I’m Ready for my Close Up #2

The last time I done this I was having a moan about my skin.  I had a lot of advice and obviously I couldn’t do all of it but I have tried to combine it to make my own little routine and attempt to make my skin better.  I can’t say I’ve noticed much of a difference, I still get spots, they still leave marks, but I will persevere with it all anyway and maybe tweek what I’m doing a tad, more on the skin care side.

So this is currently what I’m doing:

I now drink plenty of water (the whole 8 glasses a day as recommended), although, to be fair, I’ve always drunk loads of water, so maybe this isn’t such a biggie, but still...

I use St Ives Blemish Fighting Facial Scrub every other day, which I think is helping with the marks on my skin, it’s certainly not doing any harm anyway.

Boots toner (their own one, the cheapy one) everyday after removing makeup to make sure my skin is nice and clean.

I’m still using the acne medication as prescribed from my doctor, it’s a roller ball thing which you apply to your face, I don’t think it’s working though so this may stop soon.

I have continued to take my new pill which is also used as an acne treatment.

And I have generally cut down on the sweets and chocolate (with a few small minor slip ups).

Surely by now my face should be gleaming with wonderfully bright clear skin?  But alas no!
I did however have some very good advice that you should learn to accept your skin the way it is, and I have been trying to do, of course it’s quite hard when you are looking in the mirror staring at another spot but I’m getting there.

I think I do need a better daily facial cleanser/wash though, maybe something that helps remove dead skin cells or something with a bit of an exfoliator in?  If you can let me know of some good ones it would be very much appreciated.

Stay Sexy,

  1. It's hard to get right! I didn't have many spots as a teenager but developed adult acne at 21. 3 years of anti-biotics and 4 1/2 years of product trialing later I've almost got it! Plenty of water, a good face scrub and moisturiser and some sun seem to do the trick! x

  2. Dermalogica micro exfoliant powder and over night treatment are great for my adult acne. I love Tea Tree Toner from Lush too. But nothing can beat a bit of sunshine! I'm hoping quitting smoking will be a skin saver for me too.

  3. We have the same problem. We've tried eveythin but nothing seems to work. For exfoliating scrubs we prefer to use lighter rather than heavy duty ones which tend to dry out our skin. With acne we also suggest changing your pillow cases regularly because it stops u from spreading it when you rub you face on the pillow during the night. And of exercise to sweat out all the toxins.

    Hope this helps

  4. Your skin doesn't look like it has too many issues with it but I've heard tea tree helps a lot (I haven't personally tried it). I believe the best one is in the body shop!

  7. I would personally recommend a clarisonic cleansing brush. I used to have problem skin and it really helped. Also Malik deep sea mud soap ( from boots) is another really good product. I've also head great stuff about la roche posay effaclar duo. I think one of the key things is not to use too many products for oily skin because apparently it strips your natural oil away and your skin works harder to produce more xxx
