Elf Essentials Liquid Eyeliner: A Review

Cheap and cheerful, oh yeah, and it's damn good!

So basically I'm and e.l.f. Convert, I now worship at the temple of the e.l.f.  Too far?  Yes, but I'm trying to make you understand just how much I love this brand.

On my last shopping trip to Cardiff (yup there is a Cardiff store for those who are interested), I picked up this nifty little eyeliner at the bargain price of just £1.50.  No, you didn't read that last sentence incorrectly, it really was just one pounds fifty!!  I had no idea if was going to be any good, but at £1.50 it was worth a punt.

You can't see it very well in the pictures but the applicator is a very fine brush.  Now I had always steered away from this type of applicator, thinking it was going to be difficult to apply and tended to stick my good old felt nib style ones that you dip into the liquid, but I realise I have been missing out!!  I have always seen girls walking around with really fine eyeliner flicks, and wondered just how they managed to do them so precise, but no I know, they use this style of applicator, I feel like I've been let into a secret club!!  My eyeliner flicks are now perfect and it's so much easier to get just the right thickness, happy days.

Although my eyeliner now goes on like an absolute dream the only thing that lets this product down is the length of wear. I wouldn't say it would last ALL day, but it does get me through until I come home, so for me it does it's just but as I feel like I have to be fair and critical I would like it to last just that little bit longer.  However, for the price you can apply this eyeliner all day and it would never cost the earth.

Finally, the packaging.  It is what it is, it does the job and nothing more, doesn't exactly sparkle or do magic tricks to your eyes but its small, dainty and classy black and white.  Obviously this is one of e.l.f.'s budget products, and now I'm itching to try out one of the more expensive eyeliner (I say more expensive, maybe like four quid!).

For the money you cannot go wrong, I wear this stuff everyday and have absolutely no complaints.  Thanks again e.l.f., your little geniuses and I want everything in your shop!

Oh yes, and I forgot to mention, they are free from animal testing, shout it from the rooftops, tell all your friends, lets help promote animal friendly brands like this!!

I give this beautiful eyeliner a loving

  1. I still have yet to try any elf products...I think it's about time I do this. They are so cheap I don't know why I've avoided it!

  3. There's a couple of bits I want to try from elf including a primer, I'm not sure on this liner though. I normally like a really really pigmented one, unless you've brushed shadow over your flick on this?
