Getting To Know You: Part 1 My Bookshelf

Isn't it nice to know a little bit about the people behind the blogs. I don't mean, my exact location, weight and bank details, no, just some things that make me, well, me.

I figured every month I would have a bit of a get to know you moment, where I can share some things about me.  I don't mean spouting a loads of boring facts (although don't shoot me if I decide to do a facts one), but just something that makes me tick.

This is the very first Getting to Know You, part one if you will, and for this first post I decided to pick something very close to my heart, books.

I have a little dream.  I want to have my own little plot of land, build my own house and have a little small holding.  I envisage some chickens, geese, a goat, pig, Shetland pony and then the slightly more usual dogs and cats, maybe we'll throw in a child or two, but we'll see.  In my little house I want my own room, a library, filled with all the books I've read.  I want the walls to be jam packed with books and unusual artifacts I've picked up around the world.  I want a nice comfy armchair to sit in and read, with a lamp and little side table next to me.  I want it to be small and cosy.  This is my aim in life, to get to this point.

So this is where we start, I am building my way to this dream.  I need to work damn hard to get there, but to be able to see my walls filled with books I need to make sure my collection is growing at a healthy pace.

I figured I would share with you my books, my collection so far.  I intend to keep this list an add to it as an inventory of the books I own.  It could be seen as extremely sad, but I blinkin' love it.

Naturally I have read alot of other books, but these are the ones I have on my bookshelf, the most important ones.

This list has made me realise how lazy I have become recently with my reading choices, I used to pick the most way out interesting books I could find, but now it feels they have all got  a bit samey... Right, I'm off to look for something a bit different, Japanese author? Oh Yes please!

Let me know if you have read any of the books on this list.

p.s. I edit all my pics with PicMonkey.

Stay Sexy,

  1. Out by Natsuo Kirino is my favourite book of all time. I remember taking a chance on it when I was into foreign fiction and never looked back. It still leaves me wincing, despite having read it more times than I can count. Glad someone else has read it, most look at me with fear when I let them in on what it's about! xo
