Happy Valentines day everybody!!!  I'm lucky enough to have a boyfriend who bought me some roses and a card, bless him!  And this Saturday we will be taking to the air in a mini aircraft for a little ride, yup, we're not your conventional 'lets go for a meal' people.  Anywho, if you don't have anybody buying you roses this valentines why not go out and spend the money you would have paid out on something pretty for yourself... I know that's what I most certainly would do :) Who says you need an other half to have something nice on valentines day!

So this is my latest outfit, it's all a bit back and white so I decided to spice the photos up (with colour that is, not in a saucy kind of way, that would not be a good look).

So yeah, this is me fully clothed in my new New Look top, skirt and a lovely old jacket over the top.

So, above are my 3 top picks, although I could have picked so so many more (but then that would have messed up my picture, and we can't be having that now can we).  I was expecting to find some nice little pieces, but as I'm such a tight ass, I was thinking I wouldn't actually even considering buying them, oh how wrong I was.  Above all else I must have those trousers.  Unfortunately my bank account appears to be somewhat empty right now, so can I just ask you Lashes of London, that even if I don't win them competition can you please keep behind a pair of size 8, thanks very much, I'll be buying them after payday.  I will also be purchasing the playsuit, it's absolutely perfect for my holiday, so yup, one of those also size 8 too.

Last but not least I think that this dress would be absolutely perfect for a night out, proper show stopper stuff, so if you have £90 quid going spare then give it to me, then get yourself one of these!!!

Basically there are so many lovely pieces on there at such good prices (and that is good for me to say, half of my wardrobe comes from Primark), that you can most definately pick your self a lovely little outfit for a lovely little price.

This post’s TUNE comes from Cyndi Lauper.  Ah, the first album I ever owned, and how I loved it, and how I still do!  I suppose I’m quite lucky in the respect that my first ever album was such a cool one (or at least I think so anyway, but then again I’m biased), because it’s one of those things you will never forget.  Cyndi Lauper, the woman with the yellow hair, punk queen and all round talented singer is one of my personal favourites, all her songs are amazing but this one in particular is my favourite.

So remember my trousers that I had in a sale in Internacionale where it was buy one get one half price (No?  well I don't expect you to remember everything so you can have a look at that post here), well these were one of my other little bargain pick ups.  This skirt was just £4.00 in the end, what a bargain!

I love this look, it's very old lady inspired, gran would be proud!  Have you heard that Thrift Shop song?  If you haven't you shoul, you have indeed been missing out!  Well, I think I could definitely sing along to that in this outfit, although I want to replace it with my grandma's clothes, otherwise it just gets a bit odd.

I don't half talk a lot of sh*t aye...

On a totally different note, this weekend I met up with some old uni friends who I have not seen in years (literally).  It's strange how with some people you can not see each other for ages but then fall back into easy conversation straight away.  It was so good catching up with each other, and it's mad me realise I need to be a bit more proactive in meeting up with friends and also maybe in getting to know new people...

This post’s TUNE comes from the late great Amy Winehouse.  I would just like to say I could name of all Amy Winehouse’s songs for my posts as they are all as equally beautiful and brilliant as each other, but this just happens to be one I’m listening to now. This is a track from her newest album released after her death and it is just sung so beautifully that you can’t help but fall in love with the song and her.

Out of all my songs choices, Amy Winehouse’s ones are the most important to me, she was such a talent and I was absolutely devastated when I found out about her death, I’ve never had the chance to see her live and I never will;and to think that I once had tickets to her concert, so close yet so far...

Fortunately Amy Winehouse has left behind some of the most amazing songs ever created for everyone to enjoy for the rest of their lives, I know I will always love her and her music.

So the other day my sister and I (proper English) spent the day shopping in Bristol, and this is my friends is what I wore.  I do love Bristol, there are so many interesting bits to it, it’s one of the few places I would like to live, although this would involve leaving south Wales, and I do love Wales (how very patriotic).

Anywho, so I bought this dress with this lovely coat the other day (see I told you I would be living in it, you can see my other post on this coat here).  I love the old fashioned feel of this dress, it has a very vintage look and has such pretty little sleeves, and the belt around the middle  ties in my shoes just lovely.

I have loved the whole faux fur trend recently, the giant fur collars just make everything look so cool, but I didn’t buy one of these coats (I know, of all the billions of coats I have I don’t have one of these, shocking).  But I think this faux fur has been a much better investment and it looks especially good with my lovely new coat if I do say so myself!

Finally, I really love this little owl pin, I picked it up as a pack of 3 in Primark, it said £2.50 on the tag but when I took them to the till they were just a pound, what a bargain!  I have been finding quite a lot recently that whenever I seem to take stuff up to the till in Primark the items are reduced from what they are on the ticket, hell, I’m not complaining.

Music is My Hot Hot Sex

This post’s TUNE comes from CSS, and what a tune it is! This band are absolutely amazing, and this song is just so cool! This is one of the few albums I own whereby I listen to and love each song equally, usually there are one or two you tend to skip past, but every single one is an absolute TUNE! Yes they may be a little but odd, yes their lyrics are sometimes a bit weird, but I love them and I really think you should too!!!

Everyone seems to be wearing these long bodycon dresses at the moment, so why the hell not jump on the bandwagon!  But I've decided to make mine a bit more edgy (jeez... I sound like an old woman trying to be 'down with the youngsters') with my old school Nike high tops.  I had these back about 5 years ago, they were one of those items that I considered throwing out, but at the very last moment thought better of it and there they remained, gathering dust in my wardrobe.

So yup, I stuck some tights on and a jacket on top and ta da, outfit done.  Oops, I also forgot to mention I put on some lovely accessories too, especially my big ass watch, which is so big ass it's too big ass for my wrist but I don't care... well I would if it fell off, but it's clearly not that big ass... stop staying big ass!  Oh yeah and my lovely necklace which I feel goes just lovely, don't you think, it was sent to me by Bee-Jewels a few weeks ago, you can see my post on this here.

Aaaaand, if anyone has any idea on how to take good pictures with a dslr, you know the classic blogger pictures (tripod, camera, moody look down at the floor), could you please let me know what setting I should be using as the whole blurry look wasn't necessarily one I was going for...

I’m ready for my Close-up #1

I’ve never had the best of skin, I always get breakouts of spots which are quite painful and tend to leave scars, so my skin, although not the worst you’ve ever seen, does have plenty of marks all over it from old spot scars. So before Christmas, after another breakout I decided to visit the doctor to see if there was anything they could do. I’ve been before about my spots and they gave me a solution to put on my face which in all fairness cleared it up nicely, however, this was several years ago, and I guess I just got lazy going to collect my prescription, but I stopped using it. I’m hoping that with persistence it will start working, but so far I’ve continued to get spots, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

If however my skin doesn’t get any better using this I’m gonna need to change it up and find something else to help.

So I’m asking, as a bit of a plea really, what do you use on your skin, and especially if you suffer with spots, what routine do you have. I’d really like to hear from you, so please let me know.  You can email me if you have any advice that youu think might be a bit too much for a comment.

I’ve also decided to give up chocolate and sweets for a month!

As of the 1st of February I will not be eating these lovely tasting little treats until March. I have recently realised just how much chocolate I eat and it is quite frankly loads, I should actually be ginormous! I think this might very well not be helping my skin and so I’ve decided to have a one month break from it to see if I stop getting spots. However, I’m scared that if it works I may have to give up chocolate forever, it’s a hard decision, chow down on some lovely chocolate or have nice skin... but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

So all this has lead me to this post. Every now and again I’m going to do a portrait just to see how my skin is looking. However, it’s not just for that, it’s also handy to see what makeup works, how my hair is changing and I guess just generally me, all very deep.

This post’s TUNE comes from Midlake.  Sometimes, some songs just make you sigh because they are so beautiful; this song makes me do just that!  I absolutely love it!!  Back in the day when we all loved our Myspace page this was my page song, and whenever I listen to it, it reminds me of those times, ahhhh....

I bought this dress a while back and hadn’t worn it until now.  As it’s a tunic I didn’t want to wear it on its own because it’s a bit chilly what with the no arms and I thought it was a bit too boring to just stick a cardi on top, but then inspiration struck and I thought, “Oooh I’ll stick that shirt under there” and voila!  I’ve also had these tights kicking around for a while, seen as I bought them to go with the dress they were destined to spend a long time in my draw, but now they have finally seen daylight, yey!  Admittedly it does look slightly like I have been severely sun burned, but I do like it so I’m wearing them!  

This coat I found in a sale in Primark, I was ridiculously happy, ecstatic some might say!  I have been looking for a jacket like this since I fancied the one I saw Lyzi wearing from being little (this posthere), her blog was my “Blog of the Month” in January, you can check out the post here.  The material is a bit itchy and it’s a bit lighter than the colour that I wanted but I absolutely love this coat and may proceed to live in it for the next few weeks...

I do love all the little details in this outfit, the print on the dress is so cute with the little doggy print and the shirt already came with these fancy little collar tips, I’m sure I’ll wear this shirt in another outfit post, so you can see the other detail of it.  And finally I do love my little initial necklace, It’s so cute and dainty, however, when I got it I didn’t realise it had a little knot in the chain which I cannot for the life of me get out, any tips?  You can see my post on this necklace here.

I wore this outfit on the weekend when I went with my boyfriend to book our holiday, I’m off to Goa in March, I cannot wait, I’m so so excited :) It’s going to be baking hot, but its practically guaranteed I will not be coming home with a tan, I just don’t tan :(

Is anyone going anywhere nice this year?

p.s. I don’t know if you’ve noticed but I’ve dyed my hair red, I’m starting to get used to it, but it was a bit of a shock of how dark it went, I normally try any keep my hair relatively light.  To be fair, it was a lighter red to begin with, however the dye I used (Olia – the new one in the black box) did not cover my hair properly and left loads of patches where it just did not take at all.  I have been dying my hair for years and know exactly how to cover it properly, so a word of warning, never use this dye! Although the colour was nice, so it’s gutting I had to dye over it, but brown and ginger patches is not a good look...
